Dr. Abraham J. Vatakencherry specializes in interventional pain management and anesthesia, with a focus on nonsurgical and minimally invasive treatments for chronic pain. He takes a comprehensive approach to patient care, combining advanced interventional procedures, medication management, and personalized treatment plans to restore function and improve quality of life.

A graduate of SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, Dr. Vatakencherry completed his Anesthesiology Residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and his Pain Medicine Fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He has contributed to peer-reviewed research in pain management and neurosurgical anesthesia, and his work has been published in respected medical journals. Dr. Vatakencherry is double board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

Rose Gonzalez is a dedicated Front Desk Administrator and Medical Assistant at Urban Health. She brings a wealth of expertise, including administrative and development experience from multiple non-profits, most recently including the American Heart Association. A 2023 graduate of Rutgers University, Rose holds a bachelor’s degree majoring in sociology and minoring in psychology, and an associate’s degree in health science. With a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, she combines her scientific knowledge and organizational skills to support both the clinical and administrative functions of our practice.
